Cats Room
From a skywalk mouse-hole near the ceiling or a cat door at the bottom of the door, cats enter their room. Bleu is seen here entering from the hallway through the skywalk mouse-hole.

Glass installed in the top half of the door allows me to check on the cats without disturbing them.

Cats Room
The double-decker feeding shelves and water fountains are a popular location.

Cats Room
The cats have their own twin size bed made from an Aero mattress, well covered to prevent punctures. Pictured is Owlie peeping out of one of the three cat cubby beds that sit atop the big bed.

Several wooden ladders throughout the house facilitate getting up to the skywalks. Even without skywalks, wooden ladders are a great idea. Cats love them.

Cats Room
Shoelaces hang off the door knobs; cats love playing with shoelaces! This exterior door (with cat door at the bottom) leads out of the Cats' Room to the largest enclosure.

The cat doors leading into the enclosures are all hard plastic except the large door leading into the dog run which is a rubber flap.

Steps lead down into this large L shaped enclosure. The cats love nylon tunnels and house, but they just don't last in the weather extremes of the high desert. Plastic file holder boxes with holes in them are a big hit.

Pet Zone plastic furniture (boat, house, purple perch) does last and is easy to clean. E-bay occasionally has good buys for Pet Zone furniture

Three birdfeeders are attached to the outside of the enclosures. The cats love watching the colorful finches, sparrows, jays and assorted migratory birds. Now that we have the small hardware cloth wire, that's all they can do!

Even with screen along the bottom of the enclosures, seeds and hulls are often blown into the enclosures and tracked into the house. But, the cats love watching the birds up close so it's worth it.

The enclosure exterior doors are metal with a secure latch made even more secure with chain closures.

All the enclosure wire is now small hardware cloth. Initially we used horse climbing wire, but it allowed birds, snakes, lizards and mice to enter not only the enclosures, but sometimes into the inside areas of Furry Friends Haven itself!!
