New in the Summer of 2005, Little Haven is a temporary refuge for any cat(s) that needs some time apart. |

Air conditioned and heated, Little Haven is a 10’ x 12’ fully insulated cabin on the grounds of Furry Friends Haven. Inside is a bed, several pieces of carpeted cat furniture, a multi-layered shelf unit for lounging, a scratching post, and lots of fun toys. Little Haven has four large windows from which cats can watch the wildlife (rabbits, squirrels, birds, deer and the occasional coyote) as they visit the pond and feeders next to the pond. For a more up close and personal view of the surroundings, attached to Little Haven, via a cat door, is a 6’ x 6’ screened cattery with several staggered shelves.

Our first resident was Beau, a beautiful Siamese part feral cat who had been wandering around this area for months trying to survive. He was trapped by kindly neighbors and brought to Little Haven to be socialized. After a few nervous days, Beau decided that life inside Little Haven was much better than being on his own. Beau was neutered and given all the necessary shots. He also learned how to use the litter box (initially an alien concept), eat and drink out of proper food bowls, and use a scratching post. Best of all, he learned that humans can be very nice cat servants, indeed. All visitors are greeted with a friendly Siamese “Meow!” and requests for petting. He will make someone a wonderful lifetime companion. We are hoping to find him a forever home soon. Update: Beau has recently been adopted! |

Future uses envisioned for Little Haven are: way-station for trapped stray/ferals (ala Beau); fostering kittens; complete isolation for ill cats that need to be temporarily away from the rest of Furry Friends community; and boarding. We are thrilled to have yet another space at Furry Friends Haven to help our furred friends in need. |
